Bu araştırmanın amacı, bilişsel esneklik ile mutluluk düzeyi arasındaki ilişkinin gönüllü üniversite öğrencilerinden oluşan katılımcılarla incelenmesidir. Bunun yanı sıra, cinsiyete, yaşa, eğitim görülen alana ve duygusal ilişki yaşama durumuna göre değişkenlerin farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı da incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını 197’si kız, 81’i erkek olmak üzere toplam 278 üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada ölçme aracı olarak, Bilişsel Esneklik Envanteri ve Oxford Mutluluk Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler SPSS 20 istatistik paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analizlerde pearson momentler çarpımı korelasyonu, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve bağımsız örneklemler için t testi teknikleri uygulanmıştır. Bulgulara göre, üniversite öğrencilerinin bilişsel esneklik ile mutluluk düzeyleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve pozitif yönde ilişkiler vardır. Cinsiyete göre bilişsel esneklik düzeyi ile kontrol alt boyutu puan ortalamaları farklılaşırken, alternatifler alt boyutu ve mutluluk düzeyi puan ortalamaları farklılaşmamaktadır. Son olarak, yaş, eğitim görülen alan ve duygusal ilişki yaşama durumuna göre öğrencilerin bilişsel esneklik ve mutluluk düzeylerinin farklılaşmadığı saptanmıştır.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between cognitive flexibility levels and happiness levels of university students. Besides, the effects of gender, age, field of education and state of romantic relationship were investigated. The participants were consisted of 197 female and 81 male, totally 278 university students. Data was collected by Cognitive Flexibility Inventory and Oxford Happiness Scale. Data was analyzed by using SPSS 20 program with Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, One way ANOVAs and independent sample t test. According to the results, there were statistically significant positive relationships between level of cognitive flexibility and happiness of university students. According to gender,while cognitive flexibility level and control subscale mean scores were differentiated, alternatives subscale and happiness level mean scores were not differentiated. Finally, level of cognitive flexibility and happiness of students were not differentiated according to age, field of education and state of romantic relationship.
