The importance ofpublic transport in urban transport is increasing rapidly. Transportationdistances to public places such as work places, schools, hospitals, shoppingmalls are increasing with the development of cities. While the Ministry ofTransportation and the municipalities are providing transportation for thepublic, it is necessary to keep the comfort of transportation, environmentaleffects and transportation costs under control. Many advantages of usingelectric vehicles in transportation are well known. In this context, althoughthe development of subway and tram systems is required, the long duration of theconstruction period slows down the spread of the rail system network. All ofthese conditions bring out the rapid bus transfer system in which the buses goon a privileged path all around the world. In metrobüs (Rapid bus transfer) itis possible to integrate application practice and existing roads,infrastructure with the system quickly with low cost. In this study, themetrobus system, which has been serving in Istanbul since 2007, has beenexamined and the effects integration of electric vehicles or trolleybuses intothe existing system were discussed. The environmental (Emissions) and thefinancial effect (initial investment and operation cost) of integration and theusage potentials have been reported.Şehir içi ulaşımda toplu taşımanın önemi giderek artmaktadır. İşyeri, okul,hastane, alışveriş merkezi gibi kamusal alanlara ulaşım mesafeleri şehirleringelişmesi ile giderek artmaktadır. Ulaştırma bakanlığı ve belediyelerin halkınulaşımını sağlarken ulaşımın konforunu, çevreye etkileri ile ulaşımmaliyetlerini kontrol atında tutmaları gerekir. Elektrikli araçların ulaşımdakullanılmasının sağladığı pek çok avantaj bilinmektedir. Bu bağlamda metro vetramvay sistemlerinin geliştirilmesi istenilse de gerek altyapı gerekse inşasüresinin uzun sürmesi raylı sistem ağının yaygınlaşmasını yavaşlatmaktadır.Tüm bu koşullar dünyada otobüslerin ayrıcalıklı yolda gittiği metrobüssistemini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Uygulama pratiği ve mevcut yol ve altyapınınhızlı ve düşük bir maliyetle sisteme entegre edilebilmesi mümkündür. Buçalışmada İstanbul’da 2007 yılından beri hizmet vermekte olan metrobüs sistemiincelenmiş, elektrikli araçların ya da trolleybüslerin mevcut sisteme entegreedilmesinin çevreye etkileri(Emisyonlar) ve maliyete etkisi(İlk yatırım veişletme maliyeti) incelenerek kullanım potansiyelleri aktarılmıştır.
