As a relatively new concept, Internet of things(IoT) seems to offer some potentials for learning and teaching. Although thiscatchy term is becoming more and more popular in educational contexts, there isstill need for clearing up the minds of teachers and students with respect tothe nature of it and how it could be used for teaching and learning purposes.In this sense, this study aims to locate IoT in instruction and to provide acritical overview of it. It also makes a distinction between the use of IoT atthe management and instructional levels in educational contexts. Today,educators seem to support the use of IoT in education but they mostly putforward ideas that seem to represent the use of IoT from an administrativeperspective, leaving little space for discussions centering on directinstructional potentials of IoT. Therefore, this study highlights thosebenefits and discusses problematic issues, particularly with respect to accessto digital devices and the Internet. |

Oldukça yeni bir kavram olan Nesnelerininterneti (Nİ) öğrenme ve öğretmeye yönelik olası bazı imkanlarsunabilmektedir. Bu dikkat çekici terim eğitim ortamlarında gitgide dahapopüler hale gelmesine rağmen, Nİ’nin doğası ve öğretme ve öğrenme açısından bukaramın nasıl kullanılabileceğine dair bilgi edinerek öğretmenlerin veöğrencilerin aydınlanmaya ihtiyaç vardır. Bu bakımdan bu çalışma Nİ’nineğitimdeki yerini tartışmakta ve eleştirel bir bakıç açısı ile konuyu genelolarak ele almaktadır. Aynı zamanda Nİ’nin eğitim ortamlarında yönetimsel veöğretimsel kullanımı arasında bir ayrım yapmaktadır. Günmüzde eğitimcilerNİ’nin eğitimde kullanımını desteklemektedir; ancak genellikle Nİ’ninyönetimsel bir bakış açısıyla kullanımına karşılık gelen fikirleri önesürmektedirler. Bu da Nİ’nin doğrudan öğretimsel potansiyelleri üzerineyoğunlaşan tartışmalara yer bırakmamaktadır. Bu nedenle bu çalışma Nİ’nin olasıfaydalarını vurgulamakta ve özellikle dijital cihazlara ve internete erişimbaşta olmak üzere problemli konuları ele almaktadır. |
