Feline head and neck dermatitis (Fhnd) has beenarousing great interest due to its wide natural occurence and increased numberof cases everyday. Pruritus is the well known hallmark of the lesions. In thepresent retrospective study a total of 15 cats [7 healthy and 8 with head andneck dermatitis] were enrolled and subjected to corenometric analysis forselected skin biophysical marker. Regarding mean (standart deviation) pH valuesa stastistically significant difference (p=0.003) wasobserved among cats with Fhnd in contrast to healthy ones. On the other hand nosignificance was observed to those of hydration values. In conclusion it shouldnot be unwise to draw preliminary results concluding topical preperation shouldbe used in caution to those of cats with Fhnd.
