Araştırmanın amacı;fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının STEM uygulamalarına yönelik görüşleri ile buuygulamanın bilimsel tutum ve fen öğretimine yönelik öz yeterlik inançlarınaolan etkisinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma tek grup ön test son test modelindeolup; araştırmanın örneklemini İstanbul’daki bir üniversitenin 2. sınıfındaokuyan 44 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri bilimsel tutumölçeği, fen öğretimi öz yeterlik inanç ölçeği ve görüşme soruları iletoplanmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analizi SPSS 17.0 programı ve içerikanaliziyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar fen bilgisiöğretmen adaylarının fen öğretimine yönelik öz yeterlik inançlarının uygulamaöncesi ve sonrasında anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediğini; buna karşın sonuçlaralt boyutlar açısından incelendiğinde ölçeğin “fen öğretiminde sonuçbeklentisi” alt boyutuna ilişkin sonuçlarının anlamlı olarak farklılaştığıgörülmektedir. Araştırmada bilimsel tutumlarının ise uygulama öncesi vesonrasında anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediği; buna karşın ölçeğin “kanunlar veteorilerin yapısı” alt boyutunda uygulama öncesi ve sonrasında anlamlı birfarklılık olduğu görülmektedir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar fen bilgisiöğretmen adaylarının STEM uygulamalarını faydalı bulmakla birlikte, ülkemizaçısından uygulanabilirliğini düşük bulmaktadırlar.
The aim of this study is to identify the prospectivescience teachers’ views on STEM applications and the impact of this applicationon their scientific attitude and self-efficacy belief in teaching science. Theresearch is in the one group pre-test post-test design and the sample of theresearch is made of 44 prospective teachers studying at the second grade in auniversity. The research data werecollected by “science education self-efficacy belief, scientific attitude scaleand interview questions”. The analysis was conducted with SPSS 17.0 program andcontent analysis. The results show that the prospective science teachers’self-efficacy belief didn’t demonstrate a considerable difference before andafter the applications; however it is seen that the results regarding thescale’s “science teaching outcome expectations” sub-dimension differedconsiderably when the results are examined in terms of sub-dimensions. Alsoresults show that the prospective science teachers’ scientific attitudes didn’tdiffer considerably before and after the applications; however there is aconsiderable difference in the scale’s “the structure of laws and theories”sub-dimension before and after the application. Prospective teachers found theapplicability of STEM activities low but they thought that this application isbeneficial to both the student and the teacher.
