While Konyaaltı (Antalya) Beach was formed by the sediment supply of theBoğaçay and Sarısu streams, Boğaçay remained the only sediment source for the easternsection after the port construction. Due to the change in the volume ofmaterial carried by Boğaçay and longshore drift along the beach, time-dependentshore line changes occurred. As an artificial lagoon was built on Boğaçay, accordingly,the sediment regime of the stream will change, sedimentation will start on the artificiallagoon bottom, and shore line will be changed on the beach, it is aimed to investigatethe time-related change on the shore. The use of satellite images is becoming widespreadin generating geomorphological information due to the large spatial data oflarge areas, the images being numerical data and the ability to be processed directly.Images enhanced with image processing techniques are used for measurement and classificationpurposes. In this study, high resolution satellite images were used to determinethe temporal variation of the shore line and the base morphology of the artificiallagoon. Image processing, analysis and result display operations were carried outin MatLab environment. As a result of the analysis; It is concluded that thereis a severe coastal regression in the western part of Konyaaltı Beach, and thisregression will continue in the future as the region is not fed with sediment.It has been observed that there is a change in the bottom morphology of Boğaçayartificial lagoon, a 163 cm relief is formed at the base, and in some regions thereis a mud sedimentation up to 120 cm, and reed type plants start to grow inplaces. It has been understood that coarse-grained material has not yet been transportedfrom the stream to the lagoon, the material that deposited is mud and the materialthat will feed the beach does not reach the beach. It is revealed that there isa significant coastline regression in Gürsu beach, although the beach here isfed by solid material with longshore drift.
Konyaaltı (Antalya) Kumsalı, Boğaçay ve Sarısu akarsularının sedimentiile beslenerek oluşmuşken, liman inşaatı sonrasında doğu kesim için teksediment kaynağı Boğaçay kalmıştır. Boğaçay’ın taşıdığı malzeme hacmindekideğişim ve sahilde kıyı boyu taşınım nedeniyle zamana bağlı kıyı çizgisideğişimleri oluşmuştur. Boğaçay üzerine bir yapay lagün inşa edilmesisonrasında ise çayın sediment rejiminin değişeceği ve buna bağlı olarak yapaylagün tabanında dolgu, kumsalda ise kıyı çizgisi değişimi muhtemelgöründüğünden, bu çalışma kapsamında kıyıdaki zamana bağlı değişiminincelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Geniş alanlara ait büyük çapta konumsal veriiçermesi, görüntülerin sayısal veri olması ve doğrudan işleme sokulabilmesinedenleriyle jeomorfolojik bilgi üretilmesinde uydu görüntülerinin kullanımıyaygınlaşmaktadır. Görüntü işleme teknikleriyle zenginleştirilen görüntülerölçme ve sınıflama amaçlı olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada yüksekçözünürlüklü uydu görüntüleri kıyı çizgisinin zamansal değişimi ve yapay lagüntaban morfolojisinin belirlenmesinde kullanılmıştır. Görüntü işleme, analiz vesonuç gösterim işlemleri MatLab ortamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yapılan analizlersonucunda; Konyaaltı Kumsalı’nın batı kesiminde şiddetli kıyı çizgisigerilemesi olduğu, bölgenin sedimentle beslenmediği için bu gerilemeningelecekte de devam edeceği sonucuna varılmıştır. Boğaçay yapay lagünü tabanmorfolojisinde değişim olduğu, tabanda 163 cm rölyef oluştuğu, bazı bölgelerdeise 120 cm’e varan mil dolgu olduğu, yer yer sazlık türü bitkilerin üremeyebaşladığı görülmüştür. Çaydan lagüne henüz iri taneli malzeme taşınmayabaşlamadığı, çökelen malzemenin mil olduğu ve kumsalı besleyecek malzemeninsahile ulaşmadığı anlaşılmıştır. Gürsu sahilinde ise, yanal akıntı ile katımadde beslemesi mümkün olmakla birlikte önemli miktarda kıyı çizgisi gerilemesiolduğu anlaşılmıştır.
