The aim of this studywas to retrospectively evaluate the pathomorphological findings detected in thebrains of lambs which died and were reported to have shown neurologicalsymptoms in clinical anamnesis. Macroscopically, gelatinous softening andcavities were observed in the cortex. Brain tissue sections were stained with hematoxylinand eosin (HE). Multifocal gliosis was observed in six cases, calcification ofneurons in four, of which one case was severe, and demyelination in four, ofwhich three had gitter cells. The lambs showed neurological symptoms, such as brainlesions of different characteristics and severity, on histopathologicalexamination before death and were diagnosed with enzootic ataxia. |

Bu çalışmada klinikanamnezinde sinirsel semptomlar göstererek ölen kuzuların beyninde rastlananpatomorfolojik bulguların retrospektif değerlendirilmesi amaçlandı. Makroskobikolarak kortekste jelatinöz yumuşamalar ve kavitasyonlar gözlendi. Beyin dokusukesitlerine rutin hematoksilen eozin (HE) boya yöntemi uygulandı. 6 olgudamultifokal odaklar halinde gliozis dikkat çekti. Birisinde şiddetli olmak üzere4 olguda nöronlarda kalsifikasyon, ayrıca 4 olguda demiyelinizasyon ile bunların3’ünde gitter hücreleri mevcuttu. Farklı karakter ve şiddetteki beyinlezyonları histopatolojik olarak tespit edilerek; sinirsel semptomlargöstererek ölen kuzulara enzootik ataksi tanısı konuldu. |
