dc.description The dynamic infrastructure of mind (DIM) consists of several clusters of operations that are foundational for learning. DIM acts as a cognitive processing mechanism that is domain-general. How does a domain general mechanism allow the development of multiple intelligences? This article presents two kinds of connections between Multiple Intelligences Theory (MI) and DIM: one refers to cognitive development, and the other to applications in teaching and learning. To deal with the environmental factors, the DIM crosses a combined process of modularization and specialization along development, during which some components specialize for specific inputs. In this process, DIM engages the available strengths and weaknesses that constitute the neural constraints specific to an individual and develops a network of properties that allows the MI profile. Using multiple learning contexts and a curriculum design that stresses on the DIM operations, domain specific learning is enhanced.
