dc.descriptionThe purpose of this research was to investigate the reliability and validity of 6th grade English sub-test of the Level Determination Examination (SBS-2009). The psychometric characteristics of the test were tried to be determined for this purpose in the study. In order to determine the construct validity of the test, the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted. KR20 and Spearman-Brown split half statistical methods were employed in order to determine the reliability of the test. According to the findings in relation with the exploratory factor analysis, it was seen that 13 items in the English sub-test worked under a single factor. Besides this, in order to confirm the structure which was detected in regard of the exploratory factor analysis the confirmatory factor analysis was conducted in the research. The findings in relation with the confirmatory factor analysis [X2/df=109.73/65; GFI= 0.92; AGFI= 0.89; RMSEA= 0.058; CFI= 0.96; NFI= 0.90; NNFI= 0.95; RMR and SRMR= 0.052] approved the structure consisting of a single factor. On the other hand, KR20 reliability coefficient of the test was found as 0.84 and Spearman-Brown split-half coefficient was found as 0.81 in the research. 
dc.descriptionBu araştırmanın amacı, Seviye Belirleme Sınavı (SBS-2009) 6. sınıf İngilizce alt testinin geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmalarını yapmaktır. Bu amaca yönelik olarak yapılan araştırmada, bu testin psikometrik özellikleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Testin yapı geçerliğini belirleyebilmek için açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri yapılmıştır. Testin güvenirlik düzeyinin belirlenebilmesi için ise KR20 ve Spearman-Brown iki yarı testi istatistiksel yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonuçlarına göre, İngilizce alt testinin toplam 13 maddesinin de tek bir faktör altında toplandığı görülmüştür. Bunun yanında, açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonucu ortaya çıkan yapının geçerliğini doğrulayabilmek amacıyla da doğrulayıcı faktör analizi uygulanmıştır. Yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda elde edilen bulgular [X2/sd=109,73/65; GFI= 0,92; AGFI= 0,89; RMSEA= 0,058; CFI= 0,96; NFI= 0,90; NNFI= 0,95; RMR ve SRMR= 0,052], testin tek faktörlü yapısını doğrulamıştır. Ayrıca, araştırmada testin KR20 güvenirlik katsayısı 0,84, Spearman-Brown iki yarı testi korelasyonu sonucu ise 0,81 olarak hesaplanmıştır.
