The aim of this study is to determine the reliability and validity of the motivation to teach scale (MTS) which was developed by Kauffman, Yılmaz Soylu and Duke (2011) on the sample of teacher candidates in Turkey. The study group of the research in general survey model consists of 342 teacher candidates who are in the education faculty of an university in the marmara region. Correlation of the English form was determined as .84 which was translated into Turkish with the contribution of domain and language experts. In order to analyze the construct validity of the scale AMOS 21.0 was used. The result of the confirmatory factor analysis showed that the scale exactly retains its prior structure with two dimensions and 12 items. The scale’s Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient has been found to be .92 ( X2= 136.086 (sd= 44 p= .00),   X2/sd =3.10, RMSEA=0.08, NFI= 0.92, CFI= 0.94, -GFI= 0.94, -AGFI= 0.89). As a result of this study the motivation to teach scale (MTS) was determined as a reliable and valid scale in Turkey’s conditions. |

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Kauffman, Yılmaz Soylu ve Duke (2011) tarafından geliştirilen Öğretme Motivasyonu Ölçeği’nin (ÖMÖ) Türkiye’deki öğretmen adayları örnekleminde geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmalarını yapmaktır. Genel tarama modelindeki araştımanın çalışma grubunu Marmara bölgesinde bir üniversitenin eğitim fakültesinde okuyan 342 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Alan ve dil uzmanlarının katkısıyla Türkçe’ye çevrilen ölçeğin İngilizce formuyla korelasyonunun .84 olduğu belirlenmiştir.  Ölçeğin yapı geçerliğini analiz etmek amacıyla AMOS 21.0 programı kullanılmıştır. Yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda ölçeğin 2 boyut ve 12 maddeden oluşan yapısının aynen korunduğu görülmüştür. Ölçeğin Cronbach Alpha iç tutarlılık katsayısı .92 olarak bulunmuştur ( X2= 136.086 (sd= 44 p= .00),   X2/sd =3.10, RMSEA=0.08, NFI= 0.92, CFI= 0.94, -GFI= 0.94, -AGFI= 0.89). Yapılan bu çalışma sonucunda Öğretme Motivasyonu Ölçeği’nin  (ÖMÖ) Türkiye koşullarında güvenilir ve geçerli bir ölçek olduğu belirlenmiştir. |
