It is one of the main objectives of the Turkishlanguage course that primary school students should acquire reading skills inthe best way. The aim of this research is to evaluate the speed of readingaccording to the word length of primary school students. The research wasconducted in May 2017 in a state primary school in Yozgat province center. Thisresearch aimed to determine the reading speeds according to the word length ofprimary school students is the survey research from the quantitative researchmethods. The universe of the research is the primary school students who areeducated in the primary schools in the city of Yozgat. The sample is composedof students in a state primary school in Yozgat province center. Data werecollected from 342 elementary school students in total. The data collectiontool was developed by the researcher. The data were collected with the "readingspeed determination form according to word length" prepared by theresearcher. Frequency, percentage and mean of descriptive statistics foranalysis of data, one-way ANOVA was used for unrelated samples from inferentialstatistics. When the averages of the primary school grade levels were taken,the mean scores of the first grade students in the first grade students were72, the mean reading duration of the second grade students was 48, the words ofthe third grade students were 28, and the mean reading duration of the fourthgrade students was 26, It is seen that the words of all primary school studentsare 44 times the average reading time. F (3, 338)=184, p <.01. Indicatingthat primary school students had a meaningful difference in word reading speedsaccording to class levels. In other words, the speed of vocabulary reading ofelementary school students varies significantly according to grade levels. |

İlkokul öğrencilerinin okumabecerilerini en iyi şekilde kazanmaları Türkçe dersinin ana amaçlarındanbiridir. Bu araştırmanın amacı ilkokul öğrencilerinin kelime uzunluğunagöre okuma hızlarının değerlendirilmesidir. Araştırma 2017 yılı mayıs ayında Yozgatil merkezindeki bir devlet ilkokulunda gerçekleştirilmiştir. İlkokulöğrencilerinin kelime uzunluğuna göre okuma hızlarının tespit edilmesiamaçlanan bu araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama (survey)araştırması türündedir. Araştırmanın evrenini Yozgat il merkezindekiilkokullarda öğrenim gören ilkokul öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemini iseYozgat il merkezindeki bir devlet ilkokulundaki öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır.Toplamda 342 ilkokul öğrencisinden veri toplanmıştır. Veri toplama aracıaraştırmacı tarafından geliştirilmiştir. Veriler, araştırmacı tarafındanhazırlanan “Kelime uzunluğuna göre okuma hızı tespit formu” ile toplanmıştır.Verilerin analizi için betimsel istatistiklerden frekans, yüzde ve ortalama;çıkarımsal istatistiklerden ilişkisiz örneklemler için tek faktörlü varyansanalizi (one-way anova) kullanılmıştır. İlkokul sınıf seviyelerinin kelime uzunluğuna göre ortalamaları alındığızaman, ilkokul birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin kelimeleri ortalama okuma süresi 72salise, ikinci sınıf öğrencilerinin kelimeleri ortalama okuma süresinin 48salise, üçüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin kelimeleri ortalama okuma süresinin 28salise, dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin kelimeleri ortalama okuma süresi 26salise, tüm ilkokul öğrencilerinin kelimeleri ortalama okuma süresinin 44salise olduğu görülmektedir. İlkokul öğrencilerinin sınıf seviyelerine görekelime okuma hızları bakımından anlamlı bir fark olduğunu göstermektedir F(3,338)=184, p<.01. Başka bir deyişle, ilkokul öğrencilerinin kelime okuma hızısınıf seviyelerine göre anlamlı bir şekilde değişmektedir. |
