Prof. Dr.Hans Ganslmayer came Turkey in 1926 and worked as an expert for 2 years atMilitary Veterinarian Bacteriology and Serology Institute in Ankara. He sent amail to President Mustafa Kemal, after his duty ended and returned back hiscountry. He reported his views on Military and Civil Veterinary Medicine inTurkey in his letter. In addition, he presented his views on fighting againstcattle plague that created great distress at that time in Turkey. He also gaveinformation about properties, production of vaccines, and supplementation fromabroad in this fight. Prof. Ganslmayer also reported the current situation ofthe Military and Civil Veterinary Organizations with their pluses and minusesand he added the legislation on veterinary medicine is inadequate and should bechanged. Ganslmayer was one of the foreign scientists came to Young Republicafter 1923. Recommendations in his letter matched up with the succeededveterinary services in the first 15 years of the Republic.
