Personality, Academic Self-Efficacy, Academic Locus of Control and Academic Procrastination Among University Students

dc.descriptionThere are several variables to determine academic procrastination behavior among university students. The main aim of the present study was to investigate the relationships among big five personality, academic self-efficacy, academic locus of control and academic procrastination. Research group consisted of 885 university students (Female=496, Male=389) in 2012/2013 academic year in Karadeniz Technical University. Results from study indicated that responsibility and amenability subscales of big five personality, and external locus of control that is one of the subscales of academic locus of control significantly predicted academic procrastination tendency in university students. Male students were found to have a significantly higher level of academic procrastination tendency than female students. A part of results from study was in line with the literature.
